About Yehlie Metayer

Originally from Haiti, Yehlie is a visionary painter who breathes life into acrylics, infusing them with the delicate essence of watercolor.

Her creativity flows effortlessly, shaped by vivid daydreams and the ever-inspiring world around her. Drawing from her rich cultural roots and the diverse influences she has been fortunate to experience her art become a tapestry of emotions and stories.

Each piece she creates is not just a painting but a fragment of her soul, meant for those who will cherish it as deeply as she does. To own her art is to hold a piece of her heart—complex, profound, and eternally connected.

Yehlie grew up in Haïti with both her parents and sibling. she started painting at 17 years old. After graduating from high School, she started college in the U.S.

She comes from an intellectual and artistic family. While she always had a passion for visual art, intellectual work was the most encouraged around her.

This resulted in a delay in her career.

Yehlie uses art as a therapeutic route which explains such proximity and attachment to her work. Her work is a mix of her Haitian culture, feminine exploration, and self expression.

She is often inspired by her peers and their experiences. She mixes mediums such as water color and acrylic. She also likes to explore different tools such as coffee stains often seen in her work.
